  • Virginia Career Education Foundation
    Established in 2002 by former Governor Mark Warner, this non-profit organization is dedicated shoring up the pipeline of workers for Virginia’s technical industries. The Foundation focuses primarily on raising public awareness of existing employment opportunities and training successful programs, and furthering career and technical education programs in Virginia’s schools. Through the Know How Virginia initiative, the Foundation maintains KnowHowVirginia.org, a web site filled with information about the variety of careers throughout Virginia, including education requirements and salary expectations. This resource is used widely by parents, students, and teachers alike. The Foundation also sponsors the Commonwealth Scholars Program.

  • Virginia Chamber of Commerce
    The Virginia Chamber is the state’s largest business advocacy organization. Dedicated to advocating on behalf of public policies that ensure a vibrant economy and positive business climate, the Chamber sets legislative priorities, offers opportunities for members of the business community to come together and collaborate, and provides information to its members about issues and polices relevant to Virginia’s economic interests. The Education Committee has been a long-standing supporter of Virginia’s statewide Standards of Learning and advocates for efficient and effective management strategies in both the state’s K-12 and higher education systems.
